In considering this proposal for the Molong Community Centre, bokor architecture + interiors explored the importance of community to regional towns generally, in particular the unique history and character of Molong, and have developed a response that resembles and enhances the community it serves.

Central to our vision for the project is a revitalisation of the western end of Bank Street, looking beyond the boundaries of the site to identify key activity zones and important public realm to create an energised civic zone, linking significant sites and reshaping the public domain as a community hub.

The redevelopment of the site provides the opportunity to create a new civic and community precinct with a strong and legible identity. The community centre site will be connected with the council building opposite through the creation of a public square facing Bank Street, expanded via a small reclamation of part of the parking zone along each side of the street, unifying and activating the precinct.
